ABOUT LUCY KIRKENDALL

I’m currently pursuing a double major in Finance and Accounting at the Kelley School of Business, where I’m committed to building a strong foundation in ethical business practices, strategic decision-making, and business operations.As a member of Women in Accounting, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with inspiring professionals and peers while developing leadership, communication, and mentorship skills within a community-driven environment that empowers women in business.My professional experiences as a hostess and tennis instructor have strengthened my ability to thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments. These roles have sharpened my client relations, time management, and problem-solving skills—while teaching me how to lead with commitment, professionalism, adaptability, and a focus on creating positive experiences for others.My international experiences have been deeply meaningful—combining service, education, and faith. Through volunteering, cultural immersion, and mission-driven projects abroad, I’ve gained a broader worldview and a deeper appreciation for community-driven collaboration, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership. These experiences have enhanced my ability to connect with diverse perspectives and ultimately navigate and adapt challenges with empathy and integrity.Equally important to me is commitment to community involvement. Volunteering with hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area has allowed me to give back while cultivating compassion—qualities I believe are essential to leading with purpose in both life and business.I’m excited to continue growing as a business professional and to apply my analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact in the fields of finance and accounting.
