Lead the planning, acquisition, and implementation of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspaces (SANGs) to mitigate recreational pressure on protected sites like the Exe Estuary, Dawlish Warren, and East Devon Pebblebed Heaths- Collaborate with local authorities, developers, Natural England, and conservation partners to design and deliver green infrastructure projects that balance development needs with environmental protection- Oversee the creation and management of SANGs, ensuring they are well-designed, properly located, and effectively managed to divert visitors from sensitive wildlife sites- Manage project scoping, planning, and budgeting, including securing funding through developer contributions (CIL & s106) and external grants- Develop and implement master plans and management strategies for green spaces, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with local planning policies- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure ongoing management and funding for SANGs and related projects, preparing reports for the South East Devon Habitat Regulations Executive Committee- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of green infrastructure initiatives, using data to inform policy and gather evidence for future planning.
