ABOUT LUCY CHAPLIN

I have worked in fashion retail since the early noughties, specialising in buying. My expertise as a buyer is diverse, with strengths in developing multi-product clothing categories, enhancing branded offerings identifying new opportunities, targeting and onboarding brands, and fostering meaningful partnerships.I am passionate about this dynamic industry, which continually evolves. I have successfully navigated buying for both physical stores and digital businesses, adapting to changing consumer habits as shopping patterns shift, particularly with the rise of online and the need for retailers to be deliver sustainable and ethically sourced clothing. As a leader, I have delivered new and innovative product strategies, responding to and overcoming market challenges by understanding customer needs, and identifying opportunities based on market trends and range gaps. In my most recent role as Head of Buying for Simply Be, I led the buying function for own-label womenswear, specialising in size includive fashion and third-party brands.I take pride in the successful collections I\'ve delivered throughout my career and strive to produce quality fashion and unique pieces designed to last rather than contributing to landfill waste after just a few wears. I have established successful partnerships with manufacturers and brands worldwide, demonstrating my capacity to collaborate and build strong relationships. Most importantly, being part of dynamic and ambitious teams to drive and achieve shared goals is what makes this journey rewarding.
