Lucy currently works as a Lead Design Engineer and Assistant Project Technical Lead in Stantec\'s UK & Ireland Water business. She is actively delivering AMP8 schemes as part of the Yorkshire Storm Alliance (YSA). Lucy has over 6 years experience in the UK water sector and has delivered multiple projects including Ilkley STW AMP 8 early start upgrades, Teesside & Kirklevington WINEP transfers, Hull Living with Water AMP 7 and the Ilkley Bathing Water Study. She has primarily worked as a wastewater networks civil design engineer on a range of projects including pollution and flooding. This work has covered multiple stages of design including scoping, optioneering and detailed design. The majority of these have been delivered as part the Yorkshire Water Strategic Planning Partnership Framework and the Esh-Stantec Joint Venture for Northumbrian Water.Lucy was the lead for Stantec’s North of England Developing Professionals Group (DPG) from 20••••24 and co-chaired the Leeds DPG from 20••••22. She won the New Civil Engineer (NCE) Graduate of the Year Award in 2021 and was a member of the NCE’s Editorial Advisory Board from 20••••24. She was awarded the MWH (now Stantec) Strategic Excellence Sponsorship Award in 2017 and was mentored by Chris Digman (Executive Technical Director) in her final year at university; her master’s dissertation focused on the multiple benefits of diverse planting in SuDS schemes. Lucy has been a STEM ambassador since 2018 and continues to promote Engineering to students in her local community.
