ABOUT LUCY ACKLAND
Degree qualified and passionate engineer with over 20 years of manufacturing, design, project and program management and customer application experience within Renishaw. A wide range of experiences across machine tool probing, additive manufacturing, gauging and co-ordinate measurement machines (CMM), I now specialise in Vision technology software and metrology software for CMMs.Starting my career as an engineering apprentice gave me a fantastic foundation to build the rest of my career upon. I studied part time, finally gaining a first-class honours degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering in 2012. My primary responsibilities are to define the roadmap, functional requirements and scoping releases for new software working closely with our customers and our software development teams.I am a keen advocate and ambassador for apprenticeships, women in engineering and education engagement, dedicating a lot of time to organising and participating in STEM events, engaging, advising and mentoring young people, developing and advising for existing and new apprenticeship schemes and engaging with media.
