A team player, I pride myself on doing a job properly. I interact easily with people at all levels and gather and interpret information to benefit my role. I have vast experience in all regulatory compliance matters, tariff classification, rules of origin, maximising duty savings by using tariff preferences, excise duty, RPA licenses, HMRC special procedures. I am fully conversant with Port heath requirements for the importation of products of animal origin and trade sanctions compliance/screening. Special interest and experience in the implementation of government legislation. I sat on the working group with DEFRA to facilitate the introduction of the IUU regulations in 2010 which introduced the requirements for catch certificates for fish. I have actively tested and appraised new systems for regulators as an expert; for example IPAFFS and the advanced tariff ruling regime (which replaced BTI\'s post Brexit). I have in depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements of the trade cooperation agreement between the UK and the EU. Prior to joining Strong and Herd in 2022, my previous role of 20 years related to international trade in the food industry but with my vast experience, I can diversify.
