ABOUT LUCIA PIFFERI
Being attracted to technology since childhood, I decided to pursue Digital Humanities, thus also reconciling my cultural interests. This allowed me to reinforce my ideas on the power of interdisciplinarity: in fact, being able to be an integral part of it, I saw at first hand that the union of the two worlds can help in both areas. Therefore, having done this degree, has formed me as a more flexible person, able to adapt to needs by means of tools from both the IT and humanistic worlds. Furthermore, this field of study has allowed me to discover the field of Natural Language Processing and Data Science, which are currently my greatest passions. Working with data (textual and non-textual), discovering patterns, rules, not visible at first sight is a great challenge, which always gains my full attention. For this reason, I have often been involved in projects of various kinds, especially linguistic ones. Some of my work has led to the automatic creation of the first Italian Written-Spoken Parallel Corpus of news pairs related to the same topic and shed light on the syntactic information encoded internally in the layers of the Neural Language Model, BERT. I am open to challenges and it has always been my dream to be able to collaborate in a stimulating environment where I can contribute my multiple perspectives and interdisciplinary background. Keywords: Natural Language Processing, Data Science, Data Analysis, Explainable AI
