Overview: Vice President of Administration at VCU Investment Management Company (current)former Deputy Director of the Virginia Commission for the Artsformer Accounting Manager at Virginia Repertory TheatreLucas was born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in both Richmond and Beaverdam, Virginia. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he studied theatre performance. After he studied at Theatre VCU he toured nationally with Virginia Repertory Theatre (formerly Theatre IV) for five years. He would then move on to join the administrative team, and later rise to become the Accounting Manager. In 2017 Lucas joined VCU Investment Management Company as the Office Manager before becoming an Associate on the operating team. In October 2019 Lucas was appointed Deputy Director for the Virginia Commission for the Arts where he would serve until November 2021. Upon leaving public service, Lucas returned to the VCU Investment Management Company as the Vice President of Administration.Lucas currently serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit UpVote, the Board of Directors for the non-profit Yes, And! After touring with Theatre IV for five years, Lucas went on to work with several theatres in Virginia including Richmond Shakespeare (a Shakespeare Theatre Association member theatre), Swift Creek Mill Theatre, Mystery Dinner Playhouse, The School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC), the Concert Ballet of Virginia, Sycamore Rouge and HATTheatre, among others.
