Darlington Nuclear Generating Station is a large facility comprising four CANDU nuclear reactors that supply 20 percent of Ontario’s electricity. I lead projects through OPGs ECC (engineering change control) process. This means managing the initiation, planning, execution, control and closeout of multiple simultaneous projects. In the past I have lead a number of fast-tracked modifications which were critical to larger urgent facility issues. I ensure work is executed safely, and objectives are delivered on time and on budget. Key Responsibilities: • Identification and engagement of key stakeholders• Scoping and scheduling of documents for modification/project• Risk assessment for each modification/project considering its effects on employee health and safety, human factors, the environment, nuclear safety, equipment/systems, and energy production• Identified and tracked key constraints and assumptions from initiation to closeout• Led and organized kickoff meetings, engineering design meetings, constructability operability maintainability and safety meetings, operations turnover meetings, and additional meetings as required • Scheduled installation and commissioning activities and ensured that appropriate resources were allocated• Oversight during installation and commissioning activities• Tracked purchase orders and reviewed invoices to provide recommendations on payment• Updated management regularly on the risks, status, of my projects/modifications and elevated issues when appropriate• Ensured compliance with a host of standards encompassing numerous professional disciplines
