About Lucas Izquierdo
As a Virginia Tech Computer Engineering graduate (Class of 2024), I got an early start in high school at Boom.tv, where I built NodeJS applications and Discord bots to drive live-ops analytics and managed large-scale QA for consumer platforms. That foundation carried me into a NASA internship on the Artemis Lunar Communications program, where I developed Django APIs, React dashboards, and automated NS-3 simulation pipelines to support network visualization and testing.Following NASA, I joined Boeing to support the B-1B Lancer through software integration and testing—standardizing documentation and executing rigorous regression, integration, and system-level validation under DoD requirements. As the CAVs Team Lead for the EcoCAR EV Challenge, I directed a 20-engineer group to implement Level 2+ automation on a Cadillac LYRIQ, integrating automotive-grade cameras, 128-bit LiDAR, stock sensors, and V2X. Our sensor-fusion work earned an invitation to present at VTC Fall 2024.After a brief stint at General Motors, I now serve as an FPGA Engineer at Envisioneering supporting the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. I design FPGA systems on Xilinx and Lattice platforms to deliver robust embedded solutions.
