About Lucas Irwin
Hi I\'m Lucas! I\'m a DPhil student at Oxford University, where I am jointly supervised by the Department of Engineering and the Oxford Martin School\'s AI Governance Initiative. I have a deep interest in all things relating to artificial intelligence (especially AI governance and AI alignment). I strongly believe that AI should benefit all of humanity, and that addressing the risks of AI-driven inequality is one of the central challenges of this century.Previously, I was an AI researcher at Sentient working on developing open-source AI agents at the forefront of the AI revolution. I have also been a facilitator for the AI Alignment Course run by Blue Dot Impact, and contributed to AI research efforts at the Computational Cognitive Science Lab at Princeton where I was awarded the George A. Miller prize in Cognitive Science. I\'ve held positions in product and engineering roles at Twitter, C3.AI, Monday.com and Deloitte. I\'m a big fan of film and theatre, and I have had a long-standing interest in international governance & security with published articles in NYU law school\'s Just Security journal.
