ABOUT LUCA MONTICELLI
I use computer simulations to study the structure, properties, and functioning of biological membranes. Since 2004 I am active in the development of the Martini coarse-grained force field, with a specific focus on lipids, proteins, polymers, and carbon nanoparticles. In terms of applications, my group currently focuses on using simulations (Martini and all atom MD) to study the biogenesis of lipid droplets, the interaction of graphene derivatives with biological systems, the assembly of lipid nanoparticles and their interaction with biological membranes in the context of nucleic acid delivery vectors.
