ABOUT LUCA DE CRESCENZO
Luca De Crescenzo, born in Naples in 1967 and based in Florence, is a leading figure in the Italian and international animation scene. In 1997, he graduated with top honors from the International School of Comics in Florence and immediately began collaborating with the historic STUDIO 4, active since 1957 and known for its animated shorts for the iconic TV program Carosello, as well as classic series like Grisù the Little Dragon and Calimero. At STUDIO 4, he worked on the series Lupo Alberto, aired on Rai 2 from 1998, and contributed to the film The Little Seagull and the Cat by Enzo D’Alò, still one of the highest-grossing Italian animated features. In 1998, he co-founded STRANEMANI srl, a company specializing in animated productions. As President, he led the studio in international collaborations on TV series, commercials, and music videos. Key titles include Winx Club, Huntik, PopPixie, Corto Maltese, Three Sisters and a Witch, Cocco Bill, Monster Allergy, Opopomoz, Rat-Man, and Zecchino d’Oro. He worked with renowned pop artists such as Max Pezzali, Piero Pelù, Lucio Dalla, Michele Zarrillo, and Zucchero, and with satirical and theatrical talents like Sergio Staino, Carlo Monni, Stefano Disegni, Massimo Caviglia, and Lillo & Greg. For Corrado Guzzanti, he created the animated short featured in the film Fascists on Mars. In 2002, he received the BEST PRODUCTION award from Paolo Bonolis, Francesca Dellera, and Francesco Totti at Canale 5’s Advertising Gala for the NIKE commercial “S.P.Q.R.” After STRANEMANI srl closed in 2010, Luca became General Director of STRANEMANI INTERNATIONAL srl. In 2014, he created the TV series Pasta Freaks, pre-acquired by Walt Disney Television Italy, overseeing concept, character design, and scriptwriting. In 2015, he founded FENIX Studios srl to develop innovative, high-quality projects. With FENIX, he produced four seasons of Carotina Superbip (Lisciani Group/Nickelodeon), four seasons of Mini Pet Pals, and animations for Vlady & Mirò (Gruppo Alcuni/RAI Kids). He directed and wrote several Zecchino d’Oro musical shorts, including Pippo e la Motoretta, La Filastrocca delle Vocali, La Zanzara, Il principe Futù e Il lupo Duccio. From 2022 to 2025, he oversaw animation for two seasons of Go Go Around Italy, produced by Intergea, Armosia, and RAI Kids, and created commercials for various brands. His decades-long experience reflects deep expertise and a genuine passion for crafting engaging, impactful visual content.
