Engaged as an independent specialist through my limited company Cledev Limited, I provide expert software architecture and development services to the Stratus project - a high-scale, event-driven credit platform.Key contributions include:• Designing and developing a scalable platform that supports millions of customer accounts, delivering performance improvements in core services, faster processing times, and operational cost reductions through database optimisation and query tuning.• Building a robust event-driven microservices architecture on Azure, utilising Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns, with support for multi-region active-active deployment to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.• Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to translate complex business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.• Enhancing the daily interest accruals engine to improve accuracy, efficiency, and auditability.• Implementing backdated interest processing logic that correctly handles transactions with effective dates preceding posting dates, ensuring regulatory compliance and financial accuracy.• Optimising and automating end-of-cycle interest assessment, accrual finalisation, and customer billing workflows.• Developing automated processes to apply new interest rates across accounts when the Bank of England base rate changes or promotional/temporary rates expire.• Tuning end-of-day batch processing to reduce runtime and resource consumption while preserving strict financial cut-off integrity.• Contributing to the evolution of the internal event sourcing library, including improved aggregate design, projection/view building, and better handling of idempotency and concurrency.• Extending outside-in testing strategies (BDD/TDD with consumer-driven contracts) to align system behaviour with business expectations from the start.
