ABOUT LUCA VACCINO
I am a PhD candidate at Purdue University. My main research topics are resilience of space habitats, crewed and dormant states of space missions, commissioning and decommissioning of space habitats, applied to a project funded by NASA (Resilient ExtraTerrestrial Habitats). Since I was a child, I have been very curious: I always wanted to understand how things around me were working. That’s why I got a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a Master in Mechatronic Engineering. During the last year of my MS, I worked on my thesis (Condition Monitoring of Axial Piston Pump) at MAHA Fluid Power Research Center. I’m motivated and goal-oriented: as an engineering student, I like solving new problems and facing new challenges.
