ABOUT LUCA CERRUTI

I am a leader with an extensive track record, having worked in multinational businesses and on a global scale. I led teams made up of multiple company functions, in an environment rich in complexity due to the absence of rigid hierarchies, in a matrix structure with high speed and intensity of change. I am seeking opportunities to cooperate with non-profit organisations, NGOs and Third Sector organisations in order to give back for a good cause what I learned in many years. The global nature of my professional career has equipped me with intercultural skills and an approach to people and teams based on listening, respecting and valuing diversity. The corporate culture, with minimal hierarchies and matrix organisation, in which I developed has refined my ability to influence decisions, and taught me to base my leadership style on the creation of followership rather than on the exercise of authority. Likewise, having lived in an environment with a high content of innovation and change has determined my skills in change management and conflict management. I grew passion and skills for developing people by coaching and mentoring both emerging and established leaders. I believe human capital is the most important asset of an organization and I am motivated by developing the potential of individuals and groups. As a global business leader I have mastered P&L management, organizational design and innovation, and operational efficiency. In this regard, my most marked characteristic is the ability to embrace complex topics, and quickly identify the determining elements by identifying alternative solutions. My approach to complexity is always team-based, and starts from recruiting people with the necessary skills before any other action. After my career in the textile and medical device businesses, the corporate experience gained in recent years as General Manager in the EMEA region has equipped me with oversight and organization skills of complex entities at an international level, with particular regard to compliance and governance aspects. The activity involved interaction with the business divisions in the different countries, understanding their respective operational needs, and collaboration with the support functions (Finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, HR, Legal.) in order to provide efficient and optimized solutions. I took on direct responsibilities on the Boards of both Italian and Scandinavian entities as a board member.
