About Luanda Billups
Luanda Isis Billups is a dedicated nursing student from Illinois and has a spirit for adventure and missionary work. Whilst in college, she studied abroad twice, for a medical internship in Iquitos, Peru and as a foreign exchange student at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana. She graduated from Alabama State University as Cum Lade, with a Bachelor\'s in Science, minor in chemistry. After graduation, she got accepted into the Peace Corps as a Community Developer in Macedonia. During her service she worked for Red Cross. She is now a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer pursing her Master\'s of Science in Nursing Degree in hopes of becoming a nurse. Her ultimate goal is to be a part of humanitarian organizations such as: Peace Corps and/or Doctors Without Borders, giving medical care to unrepresented groups. “A hero is someone who has given their life to something bigger than themselves, you serve a greater cause, your life is not yours to throw away.”
