As Team Leader for Bentonville Schools’ Excellent Beginnings program, I support the Director in overseeing daily operations, staff development, and classroom quality for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. My role focuses on building strong teams, supporting families, and ensuring a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment.Leadership & Staff Development:Coach and mentor a diverse team of educators and site supervisors, providing training and professional development while fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.Program Oversight:Support curriculum planning and classroom routines that reflect children’s needs and align with state standards and best practices in early childhood education.Family & Community Engagement:Promote strong communication with families and collaborate with community partners to support holistic child development.Operations Management:Oversee staff scheduling, substitute coordination, and ensure classrooms meet licensing, food program, and safety standards.Behavior Support & Guidance:Model the use of Conscious Discipline and CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) to promote emotionally responsive, instructionally supportive classrooms. Provide staff with tools to guide positive behavior and support self-regulation.Documentation & Quality Support:Review lesson plans, portfolios, and classroom environments to ensure alignment with program expectations and the Creative Curriculum framework. Maintain accurate records to support classroom planning, family communication, and reporting needs.I’m passionate about creating environments where educators feel supported, children are deeply understood, and families are active partners in learning.
