Developed an automated Python-based system for high-speed chip characterization (eye and swing tests) from scratch.Built a standalone application with modular helper files for easy feature expansion, featuring a user-friendly GUI that integrates I2C, J-BERT, multiple PSUs, and DSA oscilloscope control without relying on external software dependencies like LabVIEW.Reduced multi-hour manual tests to <20 minutes through full automation, including options for I2C or multi-level pin iteration for internal chip control, while logging all parameters and plots for engineer analysis.Application has multiple utility and safety features: test profile save/load for various chips/tests, real-time duration estimates, and current protection limits.Enabled automation across both Milpitas test benches with different J-BERTs and Oscilloscopes, extending functionality to one previously limited to manual testing.Conducted manual collection of key DC characterization parameters to complement automated testing.
