ABOUT LOUIS MILLER

Passionate Medical Educator | Shaping the Future of Clinical Training ‍With more than a decade of experience in teaching and medical education, I take immense pride in training over 500 internal medicine residents and 100 cardiology fellows. My primary focus has been teaching clinical cardiology at the bedside, and I\'ve also developed expertise in high-value care, clinical reasoning, and integrating technology in medical education. The recognition as \"Teacher of the Year\" on multiple occasions is a testament to the impact of my efforts on residents and fellows.As the former Senior Associate Program Director at NYU, I successfully oversaw the crucial program transition to an X+Y schedule and integrated ACGME’s NAS into our assessment framework, while directing large-scale recruitment initiatives. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in preparing for a 10-year ACGME accreditation site visit, encompassing our complex residency program and 13 subspecialty fellowship programs. Currently, as Assistant Dean for Career Advisement, I leverage my experience to guide medical students through specialty selection and the residency application process. My revamped career advising approach has yielded outstanding match results for graduating classes and enhanced our program\'s accreditation standing with the LCME.Looking forward, I hope to continue elevating clinical education across the UME-GME-CME spectrum, exploring innovative ways to enhance medical training and empower future clinicians.
