ABOUT LOUISE PICHETTE

I lead the Health Sciences strategy at MaRS Discovery District, where I focus on helping high-growth ventures navigate complex healthcare ecosystems to achieve global scale.Currently, I oversee a portfolio of over 350 health ventures within the broader MaRS network. My work sits at the intersection of venture growth and systemic change - working alongside government, industry, and venture capital partners to eliminate the barriers that prevent breakthrough technologies from reaching the patients who need them most.My current focus areas include:Responsible AI in Health: As a 20••••26 AMS Fitzgerald Fellow at the University of Toronto’s Joint Centre for Bioethics, I am exploring how we can integrate AI into our health systems through leadership that stays grounded in human ethics and real-world impact.High-Impact Innovation: I manage the MaRS Innovation Challenges and the Mobility Unlimited Hub (in partnership with the Toyota Mobility Foundation). To date, we have awarded over $7.4M in prizes to accelerate solutions for the opioid crisis, equitable cancer screening, and employment for people with disabilities.Ecosystem Building: I bridge the gap between early-stage science and commercial viability, ensuring Canadian innovation has a clear path to market and a seat at the global table.I hold an Honours Bachelor’s in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and a Master’s in Management of Innovation (MMI) from the University of Toronto.I’m always looking to connect with founders, clinicians, and partners who are looking to move the needle on health innovation.
