ABOUT LOUISE LEIGHTON

As an award-winning communicator and strategic storyteller, I specialise in turning complex challenges into clear, engaging narratives that inspire behavioural change.Right now, I deliver transport marketing campaigns that have a real impact right on my doorstep in West Yorkshire. My work helps shape how people engage with the region’s transport, whether that’s encouraging the public to have their say on how transport can be improved, or building excitement for the brand-new Weaver Network: a single, joined-up transport network bringing together walking, wheeling, cycling, bus and rail under one clear, accessible brand for West Yorkshire.Before that, I provided strategic communications support across at Network Rail, representing more than colleagues across Supply Chain Operations, Engineering Services, Digital, Data & Technology, and Health, Safety and Sustainability. I blended data-driven insight with creative content to boost engagement, influence behaviour, and help shape organisational culture. Prior to this, I managed media for several of Network Rail’s busiest routes, navigating billion-pound infrastructure projects, industrial action, and high-profile stakeholder events — while mentoring teams to deliver consistently compelling, high-quality content.I graduated Birmingham City University with a First Class Honours in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, where I was the top performing student across all marketing courses. When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me exploring new cities, spending time with family and friends, and always looking for the next challenge.
