ABOUT LOUISE LEGG

I am Dr Louise Legg, a Counselling Psychologist (HCPC) based in Bayswater, London.My path here has been unusual. I spent over twenty-five years in the financial world, primarily as an actuary. I retrained as a psychologist while still working, and formally retired from my actuarial career last year. Since 2020 I\'ve worked as a therapist in the third sector and large private practices, supporting individuals with complex mental health challenges. I now run an independent private practice focused on psychological wellbeing, with particular clinical interest in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Schema Therapy.More recently I\'ve also become a founder. I built Tonewise, an iOS app that helps adults pause before sending difficult written messages, grounded in Nonviolent Communication. Built in eight weeks alongside a full clinical caseload, using Claude as a coding partner, it\'s currently in closed beta. Not what I expected to do this year, but a natural response to a pattern I kept seeing in the consulting room.My clinical mission has stayed the same. I help individuals build self-compassion and acceptance, heal from past traumas and unmet emotional needs, and align with their values in ways that let them live more fulfilling lives. I\'m particularly committed to supporting neurodivergent adults in understanding themselves and accessing what they need to thrive, and to advancing society\'s acceptance and inclusion of neurodivergence more broadly.
