ABOUT LOUISE HOSKYNS-STAPLES
Experienced educational leader with a strong track record in curriculum innovation, school leadership, professional development and research-driven education reform. Passionate about advancing education for all learners, particularly in mathematics, STEM and girls’ education, I have worked extensively across multi-school networks, government initiatives and international education projects to improve teaching and learning outcomes. As Education Expert at Maths – No Problem, I have: Led curriculum design and assessment development for internationally used textbooks and resources. Delivered professional development programmes for teachers, school leaders and consultants. Prepared the material for a bid securing a government contract in New Zealand, resulting in our resources being used in 27% of the country’s schools. Worked closely with universities, local authorities and educational networks to improve mathematics education and pedagogy. I have held senior leadership roles across independent and state sectors including Executive Headteacher of a SCITT and primary school, serving on the SLT of a federation of schools and leading education innovation as Director of Teaching School and Director of Mathematics. My expertise extends to gender, STEM and education equity where I have spent the past eight years working with teachers to improve STEM outcomes for girls. My published research with Dr Karen Blackmore and numerous conference presentations have focused on improving representation and achievement for girls in STEM subjects, making me a strong advocate for research-informed educational change. I am committed to developing forward-thinking education policies, strengthening teacher training and ensuring high-quality learning experiences that empower students and educators alike.
