ABOUT LOUISE GAU

Experienced Registered Nurse with a demonstrated history of working in Acute Medical and Emergency Services. Current position as RN/Charge Nurse in Tertiary Neuro Rehabilitation for Stroke, Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. Skilled in Clinical Research, Advocacy Management, and Nursing Preceptorship. A strong focus in teaching of Nutrition and it\'s impact on the Immune system. Advanced computer skills, program development and measurable Strategic Planning. I enjoy collaboration with all team members within healthcare striving to provide comprehensive treatment leading to positive outcomes for my patients and the healthcare team. I hold a Bachelor\'s of Science in Nursing, in conjunction with Nutrition from Athabasca University. Physical Education, Athletic Therapy, Massage Therapy and Nutrition from Mount Royal University and graduated in spring of 2023 from the University of Calgary with Master of Nursing and a focus on Health Promotion and Prevention of Disease through Nutrition and the Gut Microbiome, the Gut-Brain-Axis and Mental Health. Maintaining practice standards through continuing to improve my professional skills through new opportunities and completion of yearly competency courses. Providing me with current, consistent skills as a healthcare professional for the people I care for so they may achieve optimal health and longevity.
