I am a sea-going scientist who blends fieldwork with programming in Python to study the impact of increasing anthropogenic CO₂ on the ocean\'s carbon cycle. My primary area of expertise is the impact of global change on the biological carbon pump and the ocean\'s carbon sink. I also enjoy developing software tools to streamline ocean data analysis.As a researcher at the Laboratoire d\'Océanographie de Villefranche (CNRS-SU) in the European TRICUSO project, my role is to leverage innovative technologies to improve our understanding of air-sea interactions. My work involves evaluating the performance of acoustic sensors on BGC-Argo floats to estimate wind speed and precipitation and using these measurements to refine air-sea CO₂ flux quantification through data analysis, algorithm comparison, and OSSE simulations.

ABOUT LOUISE DELAIGUE
Louise is a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche (LOV), working under a contract with Sorbonne Université. As part of the TRICUSO project, she leverages innovative technologies to improve our understanding of air-sea interactions. Her research focuses on evaluating acoustic sensors on BGC-Argo floats to estimate wind speed and precipitation, refining air-sea CO₂ flux quantification through data analysis, algorithm comparisons, and OSSE simulations.She holds a PhD from Utrecht University and NWO-NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, where she investigated the drivers and consequences of CO₂ exchange between the ocean and atmosphere, ocean acidification, and anthropogenic CO₂ storage in the southern Indian and Pacific Oceans. Her work combined new measurements from GEOTRACES expeditions with existing datasets to analyze changes in the marine carbon cycle.With an MSc in Earth and Planetary Sciences from McGill University, Louise has participated in various scientific expeditions—from sailing in the Canadian Arctic to studying shark species in South Africa. Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and science communication, she previously worked as a Programme Manager at Common Purpose, facilitating leadership programs for university students worldwide.
