ABOUT LOUISA WARDLE CTAPS
I have practised exclusively in contentious trust and estate work for the last 16 years. I am a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS). I deal with all claims regarding the validity of wills, disappointed beneficiary claims under the Inheritance (Provision For Family and Dependants) Act 1975, breach of trust and proprietary estoppel claims, amongst others. I advise executors, trustees (lay and professional) and beneficiaries in both bringing and defending claims.I was the lead fee earner in the case of Suggitt v Suggitt & Anor [2011] EWHC 903 (Ch) and Suggitt v Suggitt & Anor [2012] EWCA Civ 1140, a proprietary estoppel case which was successful at first instance and on appeal.I represented a number of defendants in the case of Ramji v Harvey & Ors [2023] EWCH 1664 (Ch) in which a lifetime transaction was overturned on the grounds of undue influence.
