About Louisa Swintosky

My earliest memory of loving statistics comes from a family card game, Sheepshead, where I recognized trends and strategized to optimize success. This early fascination with patterns and probabilities naturally evolved into a passion for analytics and inspired me to pursue a master\'s degree in analytics at NC State University, where I am currently deepening my knowledge of data science. I thrive on problem-solving. During my recent internship, I analyzed groundwater data from the USGS and integrated it with population, irrigation, and precipitation data. Using R, I cleaned and compiled thousands of observations to create exploratory models and visuals, revealing insights about depleting water levels across the U.S. I also have a passion for travel and new experiences. In Uppsala, Sweden, I co-led a psychology research project focused on the decision-making of children in games. We used t-tests for hypothesis testing and collaborated closely to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results. I took the lead in documenting our research and presenting the findings to a non-technical audience. I enjoy meeting new people, learning, and discussing ideas.
