About Louis Wolf
Partner with SMBW, PLLC, having joined the firm in 2001. Worked in the Dallas community for nineteen years, seventeen years working for Corgan Associates Inc. as an Associate prior to his move to SMBW. Work included various projects from Academic, Municipal, Historic Renovation, Adaptive Re-use, Corporate Office buildings and Airport Facilities. Incorporated as RM+SMBW, LLC and was Principal in Charge of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Expansion project including a Sculpture Garden and a 600 car parking deck while collaborating with Rick Mather of London, England. Played a significant role in SMBW’s success by adding technical skills, code review and quality control of all SMBW projects including the Virginia War Memorial Expansion and parking deck, University of Richmond Weinstein Hall, United Network of Organ Sharing Headquarters Building, City of Richmond City Hall Re-cladding, and University of Richmond Quadrangle Renovation and numerous Research Buildings at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. Served various positions on the Board for AIA-Richmond for over 8 years and served as President in 2011 and rejoining the Board in 2017. Served as the Vice President of Communications and Outreach on the Virginia Society of AIA Board 20••••12, Director of the Richmond Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute’s Board, VSAIA Board Liaison for the Virginia Center for Architecture Board and the AIA-Richmond Chapter representative to Virginia Society AIA\'s Government and Industry Affairs Commission since 2005. NCARB Certified. Received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Dakota State University in 1982.

In his roles as Architect, Principal and President, Lou has had a hand in SMBW\'s most significant cultural contributions and Richmond\'s most beloved modern buildings, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Expansion, Main Street Station Shed Expansion, Virginia War Memorial Expansion and the Greater Richmond Convention Center.Mentorship and education have been the cornerstone of Lou\'s professional career. As Principal Emeritus, he will be increasingly focused on conveying his knowledge and experience to the next generation of architects and designers with a process-oriented and detailed focus approach to projects of all scales.
