ABOUT LOUIS FOURNIER

Environmental Specialist who brings 30 years of experience in project management, evaluation, follow-up, environmental compliance for major infrastructure projects. Have supported the design, implementation and acceptability of energy & infrastructure projects in Canada and abroad. My International experience expands over various countries, including Mozambique (O&G), Chad (O&G), Central African Republic (Biodiversity), Cameroon (Forestry), Niger (Land use) and Senegal (Forestry). My experience has heavily focused on environmental compliance on major infrastructure construction projects for Mining and Oil & Gas. Among clients/companies, I have collaborated with Worley, Wood, Hatch, AMEC Foster Wheeler, Fluor Daniel, TOTAL, Shell, Encana, and Esso-Exxon, World Bank, CIDA, UNDP. I have demonstrated abilities to deliver high-quality work in fast-paced environments. My work experience comprises: the creation, maintenance and enhancement of HSE Programs focusing on Environmental Management System and Process; the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP\'s), promotion of environmental best practices; ensuring compliance with legislated standards and regulations; performing environmental monitoring, inspections and audits; providing mentoring and training/induction; building local capacity through training and technical assistance provision; liaising with client/regulators and finally, provide leadership and guidance of environmental teams in the field.Experience with WB/IFC performance standards and lenders requirements having served as an International Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Environment and Water of Chad on the Chad-Cameroon pipeline Project for 3 years (WB/IFC/ESSO-EXXON). In Canada, I have worked on major infrastructure projects such as Umicore Pacman Project, Coté Gold Mine, Legacy Potash Mine, Shell- Albian Sands, Kearl Lake Oil Sands, Detour Lake Gold Mine Project. Fluent in English and French.
