ABOUT LOUIS F.

HR and EDI professional of 4 years, with experience across Higher Education and the NHS. I have a strong, holistic understanding of employment law and equalities legislation, and have led several projects across a range of HR functions, including policy development, engagement, internal communications, recruitment, employee relations, and EDI strategy. I’m confident working independently or as part of a team, and enjoy roles where I can balance creative project work with operational delivery.I currently work as EDI Officer at South East London ICB, where I support delivery of the organisation’s strategic equality objectives, lead on Equality Impact Assessments, statutory reports (including Equality Standards, Gender Pay Gap and PSED), develop toolkits and training, and coordinate EDI events throughout the year with our staff networks. I also manage internal communications and SharePoint content relating to EDI, maintain a calendar of key awareness dates, and provide wider administrative support to the team and Corporate Directorate.Previously, I worked as HR Officer (Employee Engagement) at the University of Kent, where I led the development and rollout of the university’s first all-staff survey under a new engagement framework. I managed the process from survey design through to analysis, working with over 1,300 responses using Excel and Power BI, and producing reports at both organisational and school level. I also created guidance to support action planning, facilitated staff feedback sessions, and contributed to wider HR comms, wellbeing and policy work – including launching the Mental Health Allies network and Staff Wellbeing Toolkit. I also sat on, and administratively supported, the Wellbeing and Engagement Committees and Mental Health Working Group. Before that, I started my career as HR Assistant (Apprentice) at the University of Kent while undertaking my CIPD-accredited Level 3 qualification. I supported the full employee lifecycle for a Division of around 200 staff, managed three shared inboxes, led on operational queries, recruitment, onboarding and DBS checks, administered paperwork, and updated staff systems for salary awards and promotions. I also supported low-level ER casework, led on divisional EDI training delivery, and provided first-line HR policy advice.I am highly motivated, diligent and approachable, with strong communication skills developed through six years in hospitality. Across all roles, I have built a reputation for being reliable and proactive, with a strong attention to detail.
