Develop and direct strategy for Young Farmers’ climate policy portfolio and Farm Bill advocacy by monitoring and analyzing policy and legislative developments relating to climate change and agriculture, providing recommendations to the organization, and engaging with stakeholders, including farmers, corporate partners, and partner organizations.• Collaborated with US Congressional lawmakers and their staff to introduce 5 bills in the House of Representatives and the Senate by drafting legislative text, soliciting stakeholder feedback, and securing Congressional and grassroots support for the bills.• Conducted research for, drafted, and edited 25+ advocacy publications, including policy briefs, memos, rulemaking comments, letters for the Congressional record, action toolkits, and press releases.• Work closely with farmers and partner organizations to advocate for Young Farmers’ priorities on Capitol Hill by helping coordinate fly-ins, in-district meetings with Members of Congress, and drafting legislative testimony.• Represented Young Farmers at 11 conferences, panels, roundtables, and other public events.
