Current Sr. Director of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs for the American Frozen Food Institute, where I use my expertise in microbiology and food safety to help build and enhance science-based regulations throughout the food and beverage industry. Graduate of Cornell University, Dept. of Microbiology, where I used molecular and microbiology techniques, as well as next generation sequencing to study the foodborne pathogen L. monocytogenes. My interests were developing enhanced control strategies by considering gene regulatory networks and the role of the environment on pathogen sensitivity to antimicrobial treatment to ensure safe food products for consumers.
