   School districts, school administrators, their leadership teams and teachers are held accountable for student academic success, especially when it comes to reading competency test scores. Therefore, there is added pressure on them to provide their students adequate learning materials in the form of educational software and books that will engage students while increasing their literacy skills. That\'s where I come in. I partner with K-12 schools and districts to assess their needs, identifying ways to tie literacy into every school subject. I then assess their curriculum, perform a book collection analysis, and collaborate with the literacy and library coordinators to determine next steps based on their goals. Together, we determine their needs based on student performance, ability, and what will entice their students to to pick up a book and read it. I\'ve found that by factoring in so many variables, I am able to custom curate book collections that meet all their needs. I do this by recommending leveled literacy libraries, classroom libraries, and books for the library media center that will support their curriculum and engage their students, while meeting literacy needs for higher student achievement.
