ABOUT LORNA TARDIF
Lorna Tardif is a professional engineer and Partner, heading up the Canadian operations of HKA, one of the world’s leading providers of consulting, expert and advisory services to the construction industry. Lorna has over 35 years of experience in claims consultancy, dispute resolution and project advisory services in the construction industry. She founded and managed TMA Construction Consultants, an independent advisory firm, that provided construction claims and project management services to Canadian and international clients for more than 25 years. TMA was acquired by Deloitte in 2013, where she served as a Partner providing advisory and independent expert services on large, complex and high-risk projects. Lorna has a strong focus on effective project controls, has made innovative use of analytics in her work, and has experience on many large, complex and high-risk projects. Ms. Tardif held on-site positions with general contractors on major construction projects across Canada and was the project manager on a complex TBM tunnelling project. Ms. Tardif has given expert witness testimony before courts and arbitration panels across Canada and in the US. She has also sat as an arbitrator and has mediated the resolution of a number of construction disputes. Ms. Tardif was previously a member of the Board of Directors of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and the co-chair of the infrastructure committee. Ms. Tardif holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University and an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. She is a frequent speaker, has published papers, and has developed and delivered training programs on related subjects in both English and French.
