My passion is to build a better world by connecting people with technology that makes their lives easier and more fulfilled.As the daughter of a wounded Vietnam warrior, I saw first-hand how technology can improve and utterly change a person’s quality of life. My father was not able to perform standard operations on a keyboard or mouse without a great deal of assistance. His eyes were not able to easily scan a computer screen. And yet, he LOVED computers. I became his “desktop support”, and we found ways to navigate around his physical challenges, enabling him to reap the rewards of human-computer interaction. Soon, “Dragon Dictate”, now known as “Dragon Naturally Speaking”, would play a key role in my father’s life as that amazing tool allowed him to keep in touch with friends via email and surf the web. His computer was his literal lifeline during the last five years of his life when he required full-time care in a nursing home at the young age of 55.19 years at Grainger afforded me the great privilege of doing what I love - helping others achieve their goals with the magic of technology.
