Under the general direction of the NACCHO Board, and guided by the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ (NACCHO’s) strategic objectives, as the CEO I am responsible for assuring that NACCHO takes leadership in the advancement of the practice of local public health and maintains a high quality organization that effectively addresses the needs of local health departments (LHDs). I am also responsible for the overall management and operation of the association, implementation of Board directives and policies, and financial and personnel management. The work of this position is oriented toward achieving the organization’s role as the national connection for local public health, in part through the development of advocacy and policy, new strategies and resources.
