About Loring Masters
I’m a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist with over nine years of experience supporting students and educators in Newton Public Schools, and about 20 years of experience working with young children in a variety of settings, from summer camps to afterschool programs. My work focuses on creating inclusive, emotionally safe learning environments where all children can thrive—especially those navigating trauma or complex life experiences.I specialize in trauma-informed practices across Tiers 1–3, and am passionate about Culturally Responsive Instruction, and universal design—helping educators build classrooms that are both supportive and academically rigorous. I’ve led district-wide equity initiatives, coached colleagues across roles, and used data to drive meaningful instructional change.I believe in holding high expectations for every learner and designing systems that make inclusion a lived reality. Whether I’m working directly with students or supporting educators, my goal is always the same: to foster connection, belonging, growth, and joy.Additionally, I serve on the Newton Public School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory and Co-Coordinate the LGBTQIA+ Staff and Faculty Affinity Group.
