During my 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, I have played a crucial role in all stages of a product’s lifecycle, from research through commercialization and growing mature brands. I am passionate about shaping novel products and optimizing their value, particularly if they treat diseases with high unmet needs. I also have a reputation for recruiting and developing world-class teams.My most notable achievements to date have been spearheading teams that developed and executed lifecycle management plans that boosted Humira to $18B in revenue in 2017, established Tysabri as a brand, and shaped the future portfolio for Vertex. My experience spans multiple business functions, treatment modalities, and therapeutic areas—including applications to oncology, neurology, immunology, gastroenterology, pain, and rare diseases.A few of my related accomplishments include:• Determining disease areas of focus for Vertex beyond its existing business in cystic fibrosis.• Positioning drugs for multiple applications: Humira for multiple autoimmune diseases, and Tysabri for MS and Crohn’s.• Leading the Tysabri team to address key safety risks and attain approval for label changes.• Interfacing with regional commercialization teams to optimize global brand alignment.• Managing teams of 40+ professionals in a matrixed environment, including leading the large Medical Affairs Group through a period of constant change for 15 months with minimal voluntary turnover.• Establishing highly profitable collaborations with industry partners.I have a PhD in Neuroscience, a BS in Biochemistry, 20 years of business experience, and the communication skills necessary to influence leaders.
