I didn’t plan on a career in financial communication. It started with a headset and a cubicle in a 401(k) call center.Every day, I talked with people who were scared they weren’t saving enough or unsure about their options, who were trying to make the right decision for themselves and their families.That job taught me the skill that still anchors everything I do: listening deeply. It also showed me that finance is never just numbers—it’s identity, fear, hope, and trust.As my career grew, that lesson stayed with me.I partnered with retirement plan sponsors and advisors on plan design and conversions. I led participant enrollment meetings in break rooms, on factory floors, and in auditoriums. I handled back-office plan administration. I worked with investment managers to launch sub-advised CITs.I even built a freelance business ghostwriting for financial advisors across the U.S.These experiences have given me a 360° view of how how people at every level—from individual investors to financial advisors to institutional fiduciaries—think about money, trust, and communication. Whether I’m producing thought leadership or social and email campaigns, I aim to connect with readers and make them feel smarter, not smaller.That means writing for everyone—not just people in the industry—without jargon or ego.I love collaborating across marketing, sales, and product teams to make sure our messages work in the real world.
