About Lori Carpenter

Lori Carpenter joined Seagen in 2018 as part of the project management team in Medical Affairs and in Dec 2019 made the leap to Global Medical Education Lead. She was promoted to Associate Director, Medical Education in 2022, blending her skills in strategy development, data analytics and scientific and communications grant management. When Seagen was acquired by Pfizer at the end of 2023, Lori joined as a Grant Officer, Global Medical Grants team supporting Pfizer\'s oncology portfolio. Prior to Seagen, Lori spent the majority of her mid-career at The Gates Foundation (~11 years). There, she not only shepherded grants and contracts from initiation to completion, but she also gained leadership experience by chartering and leading the Program Coordinator\'s Working Group (PCWG)- the \"go-to\" advisory group for leadership which made recommendations on process improvement, business operations and support needs. Lori then became the Portfolio Manager for the Strategic Media Partnerships team facilitating investment relationships with key global and US based media and communications partners. In this role, she monitored and maintained a multi-million dollar grant and contract portfolio by tracking and managing team progress on initiatives to inform and educate global populations on the importance of public health and formal education. Lori is known as a strong strategic thinker and influencer focused on data and solutions that maximize team talent and return on investment. With compassion and rigor, she harnesses both hard and soft skills to deliver real (and measurable!) results. She is a graduate of the executive Masters in Public Administration at the University of Washington, Evans School, a program ranked #9 by US News and World Report. In her spare time, she is a passionate supporter of child welfare, including education, mental, physical and behavioral health.
