I’ve spent over a decade in national and global newsrooms creating relatable, compelling stories that come to life through words and sound. From reporting out in the field in California\'s State Capital, anchoring national news in Washington, DC and NYC, to hosting and producing long-form radio programs and podcasts for NPR and Voice of America - authenticity has always been my true north. Throughout my career, interviewing has been the sweet spot, built on an insatiable curiosity, strong instincts, and a natural ability to connect with big name newsmakers, topical experts, and ordinary people with a story worth telling. From conversations with inmates at Folsom Prison to prosecutors investigating the whereabouts of Ukraine\'s stolen children to scientists on the global implications of climate change, I\'ve honed in the skills it takes to report complex topics in relatable language.Core themes I care deeply about: Wildlife and environmental justice, plant-based diets, the impacts of our warming planet and dwindling biodiversity and the species (and humans) already being impacted. I’m drawn to uncovering underreported stories and value the intimacy of audio programs and their unique ability to paint pictures through the strategic use of sound, crisp writing, and warm delivery. I have strong editorial instincts and a good ear and eye for what works.
