About Lori Laurenson
I assist low income families to get housing that is affordable, safe and secure. At this time I work with the elderly that live in Titus Towers here in Ithaca. I have 237 units with almost 250 residents that live here. We have two nurses on staff as well as an Elderly Case Manager to assist them with any of their needs. We together assist with many different things; from medical issues the tenant might have, to recertifying with HUD yearly, to helping them get any type of assistance they might need. This could be helping to schedule doctors appointments, rides with Gadabout, help with forms from DSS to get food stamps or public assistance, recertification forms for IHA, Insurance Companies forms, Aide Service set up and basic medical assistance. And much, much more.I truly enjoy helping the elderly in my community and when they move in to see how they light up and get excited about their new home and surroundings. Each work day is different and you never know what it will bring but I wouldn\'t have it any other way. It isn\'t a boring job and I love helping the tenants.
