ABOUT LORI GROW

I am the Restaurant Manager of Herons at the Umstead Hotel & Spa where we are graciously serving you a five star experience in a beautiful and atmosphere that exudes art, nature, and an elevated cuisine with an Asian influence. Unique service touches, and a genuine connection while orchestrating a one do a kind experience is our goal from the moment you sit down. I have over 20 years experience in Food & Beverage and for the bulk of my career I have been working at what Triangle Business Journal has named best hotel North Carolina - The Umstead Hotel & Spa. I enjoy being a part of their Forbes Five Star and Five Diamond Award winning restaurant Herons and the Hotel. Being with The Umstead for 10 years has attributed to an eye for detail and a growth in my passion for service to our guests daily without hesitation. In my role I specialize in customer service by giving anticipatory service, an having and extensive knowledge for food and wine, and connecting with our guests on a professional and personal level. With the management of staff I am responsible for daily training of food, wine, standards, and continue to raise the bar for each guests personal experience. Throughout my career in hospitality I have enjoyed all areas and have gained experienced in front and back of the house and continue to learn and excel in my field. I am a consultant in hospitality management, training, serving, and bartending. I am always ready to learn, and open to challenges as they broaden my horizons. Working in sales taught me that my passion is in hospitality and working one on one with my team and our guests that come through daily. My passions along with hospitality are food, wine, film, and fashion and incorporate these into my daily routine.
