About Lori Fey

I am a data-driven leader with over 20 years of experience in education and philanthropy, most recently as the Deputy Commissioner for Data Analytics and Innovation at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. In this role, I designed and led implementation of a sweeping data modernization initiative to improve the quality, accessibility, and usability of education and workforce data in Texas, and to support evidence-based decision making and policy development. My core competencies include data and technology innovation, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, impact investing, and fundraising. I have a passion for creating and leading initiatives and organizations that leverage data, technology, and partnerships to address complex social challenges and drive positive change. In addition to the THECB data modernization initiative, some of my notable achievements include founding and scaling the Ed-Fi Alliance, a national data standard and platform for K-12 education, and directing the Rebuild Texas Fund, a $100 million recovery effort for communities affected by Hurricane Harvey. I have established strong relationships with diverse stakeholders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and I am committed to helping organizations and state leaders advance their goals and priorities.
