ABOUT LORI FERRARA

Lori Ferrara is a seasoned cannabis & media investor, entrepreneur, and strategic advisor. Honored as Motley Fool’s 2022 Female Cannabis Investor of the Year, Lori’s investment approach combines a focus on female-owned, social equity-centric businesses with hands-on advisory–resulting in a portfolio that is high-impact and high-profit. Lori is the Founder and Managing Partner of Treehouse Global Ventures, a fund dedicated to investing in women and minority-owned cannabis businesses. Treehouse’s investments include Garden Society, Miss Grass, Medicine Man, High Beauty, Sava, and more. Lori is also the Founder of Alexava Holdings, a private equity firm focused on mainstreaming cannabis businesses.In addition, Lori is an independent advisor, board member, and minority owner of a wide range of cannabis companies. Lori is lauded as a natural networker and connector by the entrepreneurs she partners with–as she is quickly able to identify the gaps in their operations and build teams to supercharge their success. Her hands-on experience in emerging markets has made her a subject matter expert in the federal, state, and regulatory challenges faced by cannabis entrepreneurs. Lori’s foray into cannabis began in 2013, when her husband was diagnosed with throat cancer. With traditional treatment methods unable to improve his condition, Lori immersed herself in the healing power of cannabis. As Lori explored the field, she learned that the industry was at a vantage point. Entrepreneurs entering the space were in need of advisors to help them navigate regulations, secure investment, and establish operations for long-term success. Lori then dove into the world of cannabis–becoming the first female investor in The Arcview Group, a network of 650+ investors who have put in $300M+ into 300+ cannabis companies. Today, her husband is cancer-free–and Lori has married her passion for the plant with years of experience as an entrepreneur and corporate executive.Prior to her time in the cannabis industry, Lori spent 25+ years as a television distribution executive. Lori founded and led Picture Perfect Partners from 19••••12, which delivered programming and editing services to Warner Brothers and Disney.
