ABOUT LORETTA GOODWIN

I am passionate about creating innovative, anywhere, anytime learning environments for young people, especially underserved youth. An experienced multi-lingual education specialist and organization leader, I use my international experience and research to transform traditional education spaces. What energizes me is working collaboratively with all stakeholders who can facilitate lifelong learning and career development for youth. I am animated and driven by efforts to provide EVERY learner with an education experience that is exciting, engaging, and joyful, taking into account their voice and choice. Undergirding every action is my ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, believing as I do that we need to make quality learning opportunities available to everyone. Specialties: I am skilled at working nationally with states, districts, administrators, teachers, parents and students to provide challenging, engaging, and equitable educational opportunities for all children. Areas of expertise include:* Providing organizational leadership and strategy development in educational non-profits * Teaching students career development skills in an experiential setting * Researching, designing and conducting professional learning events for educators and policymakers, such as study tours to innovative schools, Capitol Hill forums, webinars and professional development institutes* Executing programs and projects on time and on budget * Collaborating successfully with multiple partners to tackle educational challenges in a comprehensive way* Communicating effectively via keynote presentations and workshops nationally, as well as via social media * Providing training and technical assistance for administrators and teachers to transform their learning environments* Fundraising for grants successfully* Inaugurating and incorporating new technology into learning events* Developing staff members through mentorship programs and revised performance evaluations * Designing and supervising internship programs, including self-developed skill-building workshops.
