ABOUT LORENZO MELLONE

I\'m a Global Senior Specialist Food Safety at Wolt, driven by a scientific approach and a commitment to scaling food safety & quality excellence in the digital economy. Throughout my career, I have focused on bridging the gap between rigorous food safety standards and global business efficiency. During my tenure at HelloFresh, I established the company\'s first Quality Laboratory in Berlin, developed the Quality Surveillance Program, and created automated Risk Assessment & Testing tools that became the standard for all EU markets. I led cross-functional initiatives that achieved a 76% reduction in customer complaint rates and delivered substantial cost savings through strategic quality assessments. This included managing international tenders to centralize microbiological, chemical, and authenticity analyses for ingredients across Europe. Prior to my global roles in Berlin, I managed the Quality Laboratory at Surgital, an Italian leader in the frozen food sector, where I oversaw quality standards for an export network spanning over 60 countries. I hold a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Padua and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Ferrara. Today, I am excited to bring this expertise to Wolt, continuing to enhance food safety and consumer trust on a global scale.
