About Lorenzo de Leon

My name is Lorenzo de Leon – I am a graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas, with a major in finance. My goal is to work for a business as a financial analyst, director, or manager, and continuously work up to where others, whether they are in my field or not, to look up to as a source of inspiration or guidance in achieving their own goals or, even sometimes, what not to do. I chose finance and marketing as my career paths primarily because I could look forward in finance, trying to see what is best for whichever firm I work for (accounting generally looks back at the history, working hand in hand with finance to forecast and see the future of the company, and I personally enjoy looking forward to the future more than looking back). The marketing aspect comes from the simple fact that I enjoy networking and talking to people. I am an extremely outgoing person, and enjoy talking to as many people as I can, as they usually have interesting insights or information on various topics that interest me, but at the end of the day, it is just fun. The mixture of being able to look forward on whatever I get into in life and being able to socialize and talk to others is what helps me keep going with this specific path, even if things can be difficult – especially in the field of finance! With much of my professional aspirations out there, I have to emphasize some of my personal hobbies, which differentiate slightly just to have some variation in what I am interested in. I enjoy playing games, drawing, and designing – this helps bring out my innate creative side and helps put my competitive side out there as well, especially when gaming. Design and creativity is a generally subjective thing, but that’s where the fun is, and it links back to why I enjoy business so much: you never know what will happen and what you will learn, and I think that the learning aspect of all of my interests helps distinguish myself from others since my big goal is to learn. I have the open mindset of continuously learning and experiencing new things, like with work or with life (there is definitely a distinction there).
