ABOUT LORENZO ANDRÉS SANCHEZ

In my last role as a Lead Data Analyst at the Universal Service Administrative Co.(USAC) I created operational value by leveraging data insights to improve the efficiency, integrity, and stakeholder experience of USAC’s Schools & Libraries (E-Rate) Program. E-Rate provides funding towards eligible internet access, telecommunications services, and related equipment costs to schools and libraries in all 50 U.S. states and territories. I developed analytical and reporting tools using Tableau (Desktop, Server, Prep, REST API), SQL (Vertica, MS Server), Python (Spyder, Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy, XlsxWriter, Vertica/Socrata APIs, sklearn), Socrata Open Data, and Excel/VBA. I also mentored junior staff and facilitated instructional workshops and presentations on using these tools for our internal stakeholders such as operations team members and management as well as for our external ones such as FCC colleagues, program participants, and the general public. I bring more than 8 years of data analytics experience working in a variety of consulting projects for clients in different industries where I have also: • applied a broad set of econometric, statistical, and programming techniques to improve the model risk management function of a large bank; • developed numerous complex SQL queries and ETL jobs to meet the reporting needs of a vast eDiscovery and computer forensics international investigation; • developed scripts to streamline the testing and reconciling of data for regulatory reporting at tech and financial services firms; • built a predictive asset maintenance model prototype to identify equipment failure factors for an industrial products company; • and prepared and delivered various analytics visualization training sessions to a federal agency client’s team members while supporting its business intelligence function.
